Today, people are more likely to breathe toxic air inside the home than outside, according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which estimates that concentrations of volatile organic compounds can be up to 10 times higher indoors than outdoors. Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are carbon-based gases emitted into the air by common household products or furnishings. Exposure can cause fatigue, dizziness, headache, nausea and other symptoms.

All new P&G plants go for green

Procter & Gamble on Friday said it will pursue LEED certification for all new plants, offices and research centers. LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) was established by the U.S. Green Building Council and is the standard for designing, building and operating environmentally friendly buildings.
